Viking Kong, 15, I forgot... 13317
""He has the power to heal. He has the gift of the second scent. He is the chosen one. So it shall be written...so it shall be done." -Iron Maiden, "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son""

What I want other club members to know about me:

First of all, I'm an American! (You probably guessed that.) The reason I say this is because I know some people see the U.S. as having a lot of problems, and, sadly, I know quite a few Americans who aren't proud of their country. I pity those people, especially since I don't know what they're talking about! Yeah, my country has its fair share of problems, like any other country, but we can fix them. And I think we're just fine otherwise. So I'm proud to say that I was born in the United States and that I am a patriot!

For all musicians out there, I am a left-handed female guitar player. As of October 15, 2009, I have been playing for two full years. Yay!

My actual name is Megan. I am 5'5", which is tall for my age. I have blonde hair which is shoulder-length and blue eyes, and I am very pale. I have both glasses and contacts. Not to mention braces. : P

I am a major music lover! Particularly heavy metal, dude! : ) My favorite bands are Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Racer X, and Judas Priest. I actually saw Maiden on their Somewhere Back In Time 2008 world tour (very cool, my first concert)! And, I'm going to see them this year on the Final Frontier North American Tour. I also love the solo work of Iron Maiden's lead singer, Bruce Dickinson. You could diagnose me with a bad case of Bruce Dickinson Fever because I have the biggest crush on him (google his name and you'll know what I mean). And you know what? It's the best illness I've ever had. Adrian Smith and Steve Harris are also pretty good-looking.

Some shows that I like are The Soup, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Spongebob, Seinfeld, Frasier, The Office, and Monty Python. Have you ever seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail? Or what about the Fish - Slapping Dance or the Ministry of Silly Walks? Check it out online. It's just another reason for me to love the British!

(continued below)

How I like to spend my time:

(continued from above)

As for guitar playing, I have a black and white Epiphone Les Paul that was made for lefties. I can play many songs, including songs from Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, one from the Scorpions and some from Racer X, not to mention a few Judas Priest songs, and I know a lot of Yngwie Malmsteen licks and Eddie Van Halen licks (like the tap - on from "Eruption")

My favorite guitarists are Paul Gilbert of Racer X, Michael Romeo of Symphony X, and Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden and Psycho Motel. I love Adrian, though Paul is phenomenally talented. I'd love to learn from either one of them someday.

Little side note: I'm learning Latin. I love Latin, and I actually published "O Fortuna" (which is in Latin) in my journal.

I sing in a choir, which is a lot of fun! I am a Soprano I. (That means I sing the highest of the high notes.) My choir is doing very well in spite of the economy crisis, I have a great director, Gary, and on December 17, 18, and 19, 2009, we performed a short bit with Barry Manilow (I'm not kidding about this, look it up) at the Rosemont Theater. Again, look it up. This really happened.

How I like to spend my time: I like to spend time with my little sister, do things online, practice guitar and bass, sing in the choir, listen to music, and I LOVE to write. I write mini stories a lot, like fanfiction. And I have scripts for screenplays that I've come up with (in their early stages...they're not that great yet) and I'm writing a comedy (in book form) that is actually an autobiography about my childhood and my silly family. The story itself isn't finished yet, as you could probably guess from my age. I plan to take this book past my eighteenth year and to my wedding, which will hopefully happen! I'd like to get married.

What I love the most and why:

My family, music, and writing. I also read a lot. I am reading the Cirque Du Freak series by Darren Shan, I have read the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, and I am a huge fan of Stephen King.

Oh, and I certainly enjoy seeing my collection grow. If look at the bottom of my page, you'll notice that I don't have a symbol for anything I collect. It's because I collect a variety of things for my collections. Well, one of them. I have two collections - one for rocks (not the music, actual rocks and gems!), and one for anything having to do with Iron Maiden. In the second one, I currently have:

5 magazines (one a special edition of Guitar Legends, the other four from their fanclub)

"Bruce Dickinson: Flashing Metal With Iron Maiden and Flying Solo" by Joe Shooman (biography about their singer)

2 posters (oh, how I want the Piece of Mind one!!! I'll find it eventually...)

4 T - shirts (one is The Trooper, one is an event shirt for the show on June 11th, 2008 - can't tell you what city - one is for the album Dance of Death, and it is rare in that it actually has the band members on it, which, believe it or not, is a hard thing to find in the Iron Maiden world, and the last one is also for Dance of Death but it is a ladies' fitted T-shirt with the glitter mask on it.)

One Bruce Dickinson SBIT black beanie hat (the same kind that he wore on the recent tour)

"Iron Maiden" by Ross Halfin (their history in photos)

Four DVDs (in the order I acquired them): Bruce Dickinson: Anthology; Part 1: The Early Days; Live After Death - which includes Part 2 to their history; and their recent documentary, Flight 666 (no, it has nothing to do with the Devil. It's just a documentary about a band and their plane. The number "666" comes from a song they wrote that looks down upon Devil worshippers)

And, of course I have 3 albums that I myself own: Brave New World, The Number of the Beast, and Dance of Death.

I am best described as:

Not your average person...I am an anglophile known for having to be different somehow, and I have an irreverent sense of humor (but I'm happy and nice!) : D

Someday, I hope to be:

I'm leaning towards being a musician, writer, or, something that combines both...like a music journalist!

Something I believe:

I believe in equality and that we are all on this Earth to learn to live together and treat each other with respect. I also believe that the illusion of life is not our entire existence but an education, and death is not the end but a graduation. And, furthermore, the Hawks are going to win the Stanley Cup. Just saying. (EDIT: The Hawks DID win the Stanley Cup. Told you!!! : D)
