  About the Club
What is it? The Circle of Friends Penpal Club is a web-based mail system designed especially for girls 7-17 who want to exchange e-letters with penpals in a safe environment. In our club, you can have penpals from all over the world WITHOUT giving out any personal information such as your email or home address.
What can I do with it?
  • You can look for other club members who have the same interests as you, or who just look interesting.
  • You can invite members to become your penpal, and other members can invite you to become their penpals.
  • You can send and receive letters with your penpals and with all of the members of the club.
  • You can set up a special club profile for yourself that the whole world can see. You can change it anytime you wish.
  • You can create a buddy list so you can write to a bunch of friends at once.
  • You can see when your friends are online so you can write mail back and forth right away.
  • You can block mail when you have too many penfriends.
How does it work? Once you sign up, you get a username and password you can use to log in. While you are logged in, you can change your profile, send and read letters. All your mail is stored online, so you can get to your mailbox anytime from any computer online.
Parental Controls Parents can set boundaries for their daughters' penpal accounts, features that have parental controls include: nickname, login flag, who can send your daughter mail, new penpal invitations.
Who runs it?

The Circle of Friends Penpal Club is sponsored by A Girl's World Online Clubhouse (AGW).

Both AGW and our Penpal Club have received extensive media coverage and recommendations, including Discovery Channel's Assignment: Discovery feature, which included our Penpal Club in its segment on internet safety.

Endorsements include publications such as USA Today, the New York Times, Parents Magazine, and the major consumer reporting magazine, as well as various television news outlets including: Channel 8 San Diego, Radio Disney: Kid Talk With Dr. Mary.

AGW also received awards and recommendations from the BBC Internet Guide, Ask Jeeves for Kids, Yahooligans: Cool Award, Berit's Best Sites for Children, the Cornerstone Foundation Award for "Excellence in Youth Services", Family Planet: Best of the Web, the Lycos Information Guide, and the Exploratorium.

Zealous about internet safety and privacy for the girls who participate in their site, AGW was proud to be a presenter, along with Nickelodeon, Fox and Disney at the Federal Trade Commission's "Kids' Privacy Compliance Training for Web site Operators" workshop, November 2000.

Guarantee A membership payment and a verifiable email address guarantees access to our Pen Pal club for a single number and profile which girls may use to send messages and search our database for other members of the penpal club. We do not guarantee any girl a penpal. We have no control over whether girls who have signed up will write back. If you are not satisfied with our service for any reason, we will refund you the membership price you paid for that year.
